Bio:
I am originally from Texas but moved to Colorado to pursue my Master’s in Counseling and Art Therapy, which I will complete in Spring 2026. I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in art from the University of Oregon. Since high school, I have been passionate about psychology, and discovering Art Therapy has allowed me to merge and pursue my two passions. My background as an artist has shown me the inherent healing potential of art, and my graduate studies have deepened my understanding of how to harness that potential to benefit my clients.
Before entering graduate school, I worked as a Registered Behavior Technician with children aged 2-12 on the autism spectrum. In this role, I provided behavioral therapeutic services in both clinic and in-home settings, collaborating closely with families and coordinating treatment goals with my supervisor. This experience introduced me to the helping professions and gave me valuable insight into working with children and families. I bring these experiences with me as I embark on my journey in the field of counseling.
As a clinician, I embrace a client-centered, humanistic approach, aiming to provide a supportive and empathetic environment where clients can explore and process their unique experiences. I incorporate the use of art materials, which can enhance self-awareness and understanding. Art offers a pathway to access thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to reach through traditional talk therapy, making it an invaluable tool. One of my favorite aspects of art therapy is how it allows clients to externalize their thoughts and emotions through their artwork, fostering greater perspective and reflection.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time outdoors, cooking, and reading. I also love working on personal art projects and discovering new and creative ways to express myself through my artwork.
